Comm. Francesco Pellin  born in Busto Arsizio near Varese, April 9, 1936 and started as a young businessman in the food trade of goods. Up in 1969 founded the first company in Italy specialized in smoking salmon.

And in those years where he met with Renato Guttuso  who holds a friendship based on common values such as respect and mutual esteem.

Over the years the friendship finds its way through important acquisitions of works by the master and the contribution to the realization of  the General Catalogue raisonné of paintings of Renato Guttuso, edited by Enrico Crispolti and published by Giorgio Mondadori.

In 2000 decides to establish a foundation that bears his name, to study the works of the painter Renato Guttuso. He donates to the foundation many important paintings collected during his life.

Passed away on 24 June 2009.
